Kjell Aleklett is a Professor in Physics, and head of the Uppsala Hydrocarbon Depletion Study Group, at Uppsala University, Sweden. He is the acting President of ASPO.

The Company primarily operates in Europe and North America. In his capacity as Chief Executive of NTR, Jim is Chairman of the key operating subsidiaries. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from University College Cork and a Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.

Prof. Bauquis was head of Strategy and Planning, then Head of Gas, Coal and Electricity at Total. He then became the Special Advisor to the Chairman of TotalFinaElf and the author of Total's energy review to 2050. He is now a Professor at the IFP School (the French Institute for petroleum).

James W. Buckee has worked in Norway, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East, but settled in Alberta after joining Talisman Energy in 1991. Born in Winchester, England, Buckee earned a PhD in astrophysics from Oxford University and went on to work for Shell, Burma Oil Co. and British Petroleum. The father of four daughters showed a contrarian streak recently by announcing that Talisman Energy will spend $400 million more on its oil and natural gas operations this year—while its Canadian competitors have scaled back their spending. Buckee said the additional cash will be spent on land purchases and drilling in Western Canada, where Buckee expects two soon to- be-completed natural gas pipelines to boost volume.

After being awarded a D Phil at Oxford in 1957, Dr Campbell joined the oil industry as an exploration geologist. His career took him to Borneo, Trinidad, Colombia, Australia, Papua New Guinea, the USA, Ecuador, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Norway. Dr. Campbell restarted the "Peak Oil" debate in 2001 with the establishment of ASPO, an organisation that has since grown to include over 25 national chapters around the globe.

Debbie Cook is serving her second term on the Huntington Beach City Council. She served as Mayor in 2002 and has also served on numerous regional boards including the Southern California Association of Governments Regional Council, the SCAG Energy Working Group (Chair), the Orange County Council of Governments and ASPO-USA. Debbie holds a BSc from Cal State Long Beach, a Juris doctorate from Western State College of Law, and a license to practice law in California. She is also a graduate of the Kennedy School of Government National Preparedness Leadership Initiative and Leadership Southern California. Debbie is a 40 year resident of Orange County. Prior to her election she served on the Bolsa Chica Land Trust legal team.

Dr. Alfredo Curbelo has a Ph D in Technical Sciences specialising in renewable energy development with emphasis in biomass energy use. At the moment he is the Head of the Cuban National Research and Development Program “Sustainable Energy Development”. Since 2001 he was Director for Innovation and Energy at the Center for management of Priority Project and Programs under the Cuban Ministry for Science, Technology and Environment and today he is a leading researcher at CUBAENERGIA in Havana and has experience as Project Director in the scope of Global Environment Facility (GEF) activities.

Matt was educated at Clongowes Wood College and received a B.Agr.Sc. (1st Hons.) in 1969 at University College Dublin. He was a Producer of Agricultural Programmes in RTE Radio from 1969 to 1973 and EEC Correspondent for the Irish Farmers Journal from 1973 to1978 and completed a Postgraduate Study UCD in1978. He was Chairman of Agricultural Institute (UK equivalent ADAS) from 1986 to1988 and he held the post of President Irish Grassland Association from 1998 to 1999 and President of European Agricultural Publishers Association and Member of Oxford Farming Conference Council from 1993 to 1996.

Dr. Dittmar received his PhD in physics in 1985. He is a researcher at the ETH Zurich physics department, specializing in particle physics, and works at CERN. For several years he has given a course ‘Energy and Environment in the 21st Century’ at ETH and is the president of the CERN club conCERNed for humanity.

Richard Douthwaite is a contemporary economist and co-founder of the Foundation for the Economics of Sustainability (Feasta), an Irish economic think tank. His books include "The Growth Illusion" (1992), "Short Circuit" (1996) and the "Ecology of Money" (1999).
