Cork Environmental Forum Award for outstanding individu
At an award ceremony last night in the Firkin Crane in Cork city, Dr. Colin Campbell received the Cork Environmental Forum Award for outstanding individual contribution. The award was presented by last year's winner Declan Waugh.
Dr. Campbell's enormous dedication to studying the subject of peak oil and to raising awareness of its arrival and consequences was recognised. Since the publication of his first book on the subect of peak oil, 'The Coming Oil Crisis' (1997) he has tirelessly toured the world presenting his evidence and sounding the alarm bell. In 2001 he founded the Association for the Study of Peak Oil & Gas (ASPO) and over 25 national chapters now exist around the world, including Ireland.
