Dr Colin Campbell, the founder of ASPO, formed ASPO Ireland and produces a monthly newsletter through this website and disseminates information about peak oil and gas.

Dr Colin J Campbell

After being awarded a D Phil at Oxford in 1957, Dr Campbell joined the oil industry as an exploration geologist. His career took him to Borneo, Trinidad, Colombia, Australia, Papua New Guinea, the USA, Ecuador, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Norway.

He is now dedicated to researching the date and impact of the peak and decline of world oil production due to resource constraints, and to raising awareness of the serious consequences. He has published extensively, and his recent articles have stimulated lively debate. His views are provocative yet carry the weight of a wide international experience

   

 

Jack Zagar

Jack Zagar has twenty-five years experience in North Sea, Middle East, Gulf of Mexico, and onshore U.S.A. operations in petroleum reservoir engineering and reservoir management; economic evaluations of projects, property trades, and asset sales; and corporate planning. Twenty-two years were with Exxon Corporation and Exxon U.S.A. The last three years Mr. Zagar has been engaged as an independent engineering consultant. 

Mr. Zagar is also an associate of Malkewicz-Hueni Associates of Golden, Colorado and is partnered with noted author and world oil reserve expert, Dr. Colin Campbell.

 

   

 

Jeremy Gilbert

Jeremy Gilbert is the recently retired Chief Petroleum Engineer from British Petroleum (BP) where he was responsible for the company’s worldwide petroleum engineering performance and associated research and development program. He joined BP in 1964, worked as production engineer in Libya and then helped introduce the new technique of reservoir simulation into (BP). From 1979, he supervised BP’s North Sea reservoir engineering and later managed all BP’s UK petroleum and reservoir engineering activities. In subsequent posts, he worked on a range of staff development, equity and major legal issues in London, Houston and Anchorage.

Mr. Gilbert is now Managing Director of Barrelmore Ltd., a company providing technical audit and training support to the oil industry worldwide. Mr. Gilbert has been Chairman of Heriot-Watt University’s (Edinburgh) Industrial Advisory Board, a member of Imperial College’s ( London) and of the University of Alaska’s Industrial Advisory Boards, and external examiner for Masters’ courses at Robert Gordon’s University ( Aberdeen) and Heriot-Watt Universities. He has also occupied several significant posts in the Society of Petroleum Engineers, including that of Chairman of the London Section. Mr. Gilbert was born and educated in Ireland and received his moderatorship in mathematics from Dublin University. He has a lifetime of experience in the oil industry and adds to the increasing wave of credibility for peak oil followers.
